Counselor and therapist Sue from CanTalk Cancer Counselling smiling

Kia ora, I’m Sue Corkill.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPIST, ACT THERAPIST & NZAC MEMBER

I understand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate a life affected by cancer. As your counsellor or therapist, I am here to lend a compassionate ear and offer guidance towards more effective and meaningful strategies that can help you during this challenging time.

I help individuals affected by cancer navigate their personal struggles and find effective strategies to cope.

I am a trained Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapist. I am also a Registered Member of the NZ Association of Counsellors.

I have worked in the field of cancer for most of my life. I worked as a NZ Oncology Registered Nurse for many years in Wellington Hospital and I have also worked in other NZ cancer related organizations. I have spent the last 5 years working in a private Christchurch Cancer Centre as a counsellor.

Having dedicated my life to working with individuals affected by cancer, I possess a deep understanding of the challenges that clients face. I have honed various skills to provide emotional support to my clients, while also addressing the practicalities of their situation.

My clients can expect a safe and peaceful environment in which they can explore their thoughts, emotions, and concerns. I strive to offer personalised support and collaborate with my clients to make a meaningful difference in their emotional well-being.
